Oakland Recreation Summer Camp is run seasonally for the children of the Borough of Oakland. We have a proud tradition of having the best counselors possible to make the summers of the past unforgettable and the future summers something that everyone looks forward to. As school is out for the summer, we begin our exciting programs for grades K-5 and grades 6-9. K-5 students will go to the Day Camp with programs and events that are brought to them. Sixth through ninth grade students attend Open Camp. They are able to travel around going to major theme parks, water parks, movies, etc. We average a total of 530 campers a season. During the 2008 season Oakland Recreation had record breaking numbers in both the Open Camp and Day Camp.

Please Do Not Print on Both Sides or Staple Registration Forms Just a reminder as there has been a few staples and forms that are printed on both sides of the page. These forms get filed in separate locations and we need each form to have it's own individual page. Also, as stated on the registration forms itself, please use paper clips instead of staples. We will provide paper clips if you don't have any at home. Thank you in advance.

Babysitting List Coming Yes, it is that time of year again and we are all preparing for the summer one way or another. As there have been several requests via registration and email, we have not come up with a babysitting list at this time. We want to finalize the staff and give everyone who wants a chance to be on the list. It is entirely up to you to contact our staff members and negotiate a schedule, hours, and a rate with them. How to Follow Camp Updates Easier and new Twitter Feed This post will shortly be updated with 3-4 links that will have an RSS feed that will update automatically on your browser's bookmark bar of new information from camp. Also, the definition of an RSS feed will be here along with how it works. Oakland Recreation Summer Camp now has a Twitter Account. This account will be able to give you information that we can't give you during the day due to the lack of internet availability at the rec complex.
